5 Things We Learned About Loubie the Hugging Pup

Even if you don’t live in NYC, there’s a good chance that you’re familiar with Louboutina—the affectionate Golden Retriever who hugs perfect strangers on the street. Loubie, as she’s affectionately known, has gotten the attention of everyone from The Dogist to The Dodo for her inclination to hop up on her hind legs and wraps her front two around the legs of people. We were lucky enough to have her (and her human, Cesar Fernandez-Chavez) come visit the Ollie office—and we learned a few things about what makes her even more awesome:

It takes her an hour to walk 3 blocks!

It would take you an hour too, if you got stopped on every corner for a hug.

She prefers to dole out hugs outdoors.

She feels more steady on the sidewalk than on indoor floors (hugs require balance!)

She’s a certified therapy dog.
